Still in London but on secondment in Oxford 3 days a week, bought a flat in London so seem to be settling into the UK for the long haul. Look forward to catching up over some cold ones and watching the Selborne 1st 15 vanquish some more victims, better chance of success than at national level I suspect.

Has it really been ten years already...? seems like almost yesterday that we all walked bravely from those selborne gates, all cock-sure and convinced that millionaire status was just a few years off.

I recently arrived in London and was truly surprised to hear my name being called by Grant Anderson outside the Waterloo Station. Trying to both summarise our lives in 30 seconds, he told me about the class of '92 website, we both rushed off into the London chaos.

This is my story...
After leaving school I was convinced that the grass would be greener in Germany and packed my bags for colder weather. I planned to study Architecture in Berlin. As a prerequisite for the course, I worked for a few weeks as a construction worker on a building site. The few weeks turned into months and the time spent mixing concrete and carrying bricks in the rain gave me time to reflect over the sunshine that I was missing out on back in SA!

I packed my bags again, spent my savings on a holiday in Canada and the US, and registered for architecture at the University of Port Elizabeth. Six years later, while working as an architect and during a momentary laps of reason, I registered for a Masters of Business Administration part time. After putting my social life on hold for two years and feeling restless again, I decided it was time to travel. Single and without kids, I whittled my life down to a suitcase, a sleeping bag and a laptop and headed for the UK.
I arrived over the Easter Weekend and am currently working for the Building Design Partnership in Soho, London.
